A come-from-behind  4-3 overtime win against the New York Islanders was the perfect cap to the Detroit Red Wings’ impressive 6-3-1 opening 10-game segment. Bob Duff wrote that the Red Wings showed overflowing resiliency in battling back to win on Lucas Raymond’s OT tally.

Detroit leads the NHL with 40 goals scored, averaging four goals per game. That’s a noteworthy total for a team that didn’t average three goals per game last season.

Our Red Wings Notebook points out that the Detroit defense also leads the NHL in offensive production (33 points). Moritz Seider leads all NHL defensemen with nine assists.

Detroit’s next game is Thursday at home against the Florida Panthers at Little Caesars Arena. The Panthers have picked up five out of six points in their last three games.
