I’m a Leafs fan, but most importantly a Reimer fan so maybe I can give some insight on how he plays based on what I’ve seen in the past. I’ve followed him his whole career.

He’s definitely had reliability issues in the past, but that’s mainly due to being under used. He’s someone who needs to be playing consistently to stay in form (which from what the article says, he seems to be playing a fair bit recently). Reimer’s style of play has always been like you said, one step away from distaster, but that’s mainly due to his below average puck control. You’ve probably seen a lot of rebounds and loose pucks when he’s in net. However, when he gets hot he’s pretty damn good and makes some incredible saves.

He was in the midst of a hot streak when he carried the Leafs to the playoffs and looked like a bonafide #1. In that series against the Bruins he was fantastic, but it was his team that let him down. Obviously, the Toronto media went and held him out to dry afterwards. I wouldn’t worry so much about fatigue, he’s played about half of his average career games. He started 44 last season

Seems like that’s why Reimer and Lyon were brought in. Now the Wings have three part timers with no anchor. Reimer and Lyon are doing well under the circumstances. If only one could be held over to play back-up next season to Cossa I’d go with Husso but its a close call.At some point soon the D will improve in front of them.

Maybe Jimmy Howard or Chris Osgood should get a start? 🤭

Agree about Husso. I dont the injuries are his fault, nobody tries to get hurt but he is just too injury prone. He needsca fresh start somewhere else. If healthy he c

I’m a Lyon guy but he’s been rode to the ground lately and I do feel we’ve under-used Reimer as part of that. However, there’s something about Reimer that I dont trust, I feel like he’s only ever 1 game away from a meltdown. What he was doing for Toronto’s first goal last night I’ll never know but immediately I thought “here we go again with Reimer and his erratic behaviour in net”.

So who do you go with, the exhausted guy who you can normally trust when fresh but who is exhausted, or the erratic guy who is fresh?

One thing is for sure, I’m done with Husso. He has been a total waste of time. Cut him loose.
