Red Wings Have 7 Rental Properties to Move, Including Stecher, Leddy | DHN+
Defenseman Troy Stecher is so happy to be playing again this season that he isn’t thinking about where he could end up next season.
“I had some friends back home ask me the same question and it’s like, ‘I’ve been out for three months, all I really want to do is play hockey,.” Stecher said.
But when he does think about his future he will recall that he wasn’t in the Red Wings’ top six at the start of the season.
“I wasn’t happy I wasn’t playing,” he admitted. “When you come back from a summer and put in all that work and don’t get to start playing it’s obviously disappointing. When I got back in, I tried to take a lot of pride in my game. I felt I was coming out strong. Obviously I got injured, so that was unfortunate. Just excited to be back in the mix. Whether I’m playing or not, I got to push the guys, push our teammates, be the best teammate I can be and when I am playing try to be the best I can be.”
