In reply to Gordon Cheswick. The Red Wings are better off with Lyon playing regularly in GR. Then if something happened to Husso, he'd be sharp and ready to move in. Lyon has never played a full NHL season. You also have to wonder if like Nedeljkovic in Carolina the year prior to coming to Detroit, whether Lyon caught lightning in a bottle last season. Nedeljkovic was never able to replicate his performance with the Hurricanes consistently in his two seasons with the Red Wings.
