PLEASE stop saying that ‘we were 6 points from a playoff spot’ and then disappeared.’ We were never close because Boston had 6 games in hand. DRW also traded away 4 players and lost 2 top line guys at the end of the season. Boston got back their two main players – and blew the doors off. So, NO – we were never ‘close to a playoff spot”!
Lalonde will be as patient as Stevie. I’m sure. But patience is helped by some hope of getting a couple of young UFA’s. It is spurred by doing whatever is needed in the draft, including trades, to help with more or better players. I certainly hope SY gives us some hope

Two things to watch for before we even think about playoffs:
a. Cut down on the goals against; too hard to play when your team gives up at least 5 goals a game for at least 30 games last season.
b. Get to at least a .500 winning percentage.

Once these goals are achieved, then at least there is an opportunity for qualifying for the you know what. My opinion.
