Odd men out happen for the advancement of the team. I think you are correct Gord. Any of those names could be gone and yes it will be interesting to see how the roster comes together now.

Two new players for GR too! I was thinking GR had no minutes to offer as it was. I was also thinking a big trade must be in the works just to lighten the load a bit.

Looking down the list and supposing that a couple of guys will come out of Traverse City with surprise jobs – the following may have trouble holding jobs with DRW: Erne, Smith, Zadina, Suter, Hirose, Lindstrom, Fabbri, and even Bertuzzi. AND NO – I am not saying all of these guys are gone – I just think they had better play up to where they are supposed to – or they could be gone….and Bert has to get vaccinated-he can be replaced now!

I would love o her the discussions during Larkin’s extension interview: ‘Hey boss – are we going to get some players so we can win in the next five years?’ That along with the huge progression of Raymond and Seider – and questions they may have – Stevie did a great job addressing the needs of the team.
It also allows the young guys a little more time and room to grow into the system.
You know – if Stevie knew he was ‘going for it’-maybe that is why he took Kasper @ #8 (?)

I don’t think he wanted these young players growing up in that type of environment. A losing culture was starting to take hold of the organization and that needed to be put to an end.

None of the signings will hamper the Wings long term, no matter the result of the players. i know it will take time for the team to jell with all these new players, but the contention for a playoff berth has to start sometime.
