Mastrosimone, Mazur early Hobey Baker contenders
The NCAA released the Hobey Baker Award long list on late Tuesday and two Detroit Red Wings draft picks were representing the team among the contenders for the award that goes to the besty player in college hockey.
Sophomore forward Carter Mazur (70th overall, 2021) of the reigning NCAA champion Denver Pioneers is on the list. Mazur is currently tied for second in the nation with 17 goals in 26 games.

Also gaining recognition was Arizona State Sun Devils senior forward Robert Mastrosimone (54th overall, 2019). He’s in his first season with the Sun Devils afer transferring from the Boston Terriers. Mastrosimone is averaging a point per game this season, showing 8-19-27 totals through 27 games.
