In a lot of ways, what we’ve done is swap Bert out for ADB. And what that’s done is it’s necesitated a whole different style of hockey. We’ve gone from dump ‘n rush to skill team in one sweet move. If you’d have asked me last season whether I minded that we traded Bert, just to be clear I had the pitchfork out over that trade. If you’re asking me now whether I like that trade, I’m saying yhea….gimme some more! Sorry Bert, but I’d have ADB as a our top liner before you anyday. We finally have a player who can shoot and make the puck move too (Zadina, are you watching and learning something?)

I guess Larkin is answering the question of how good he could be with top end wingers. 40 goals for the Cat and a point per game for Larkin are almost looking EZ PZ in this short sample size. Can’t wait for the Sens game Saturday. Go Wings!!! Should be some shenanigans in that game for sure.

Alex DeBrincat’s tap in goal after a tape to tape pass from Austin Czarnik was a classic. We all knew DeBrincat was capable but actually Czarnik (born in Washington Twp MI) is showing off his own knack for passing around the net.

Fabbri will be returning soon so Czarnik will return to GR but he stepped in admirably when needed. Coaches don’t forget those players.

How tough are the Red Wings?

Fresh from winning three straight, two of the wins vs Atlantic division match ups, up comes a visit to the Ottawa Senators who feature a Tkachuk, and are tied with our Red Wings ON TOP of the Atlantic.

Notably: Ottowa’s stats show Dominic Kubalic who was traded to the Sens by the Wings is still looking to score a point this season. Whereas traded Senator DeBrincat. -now a Red Wing- seems to be LEADING THE NHL in scoring. Hmm.

As if their Tkachuk and co. needed any more to rile them.

The Senators will be an ideal test for the Red Wings. They’re great at puck possession for one thing with face off numbers to drool over. They have a solid D and all but 2 Forwards have scored already and one of those 2 is Kubalik.

So get out the extra large popcorn bowl and keep a towel handy for muffling expletives its going to be a war.
