The Daily: Flames Will Soon Trade Hanifin; NBA Loves Yzerman?

The Calgary Flames and Noah Hanifin’s representative are not confirming it, but Sportsnet hockey insider Elliotte Friedman confirmed that the Calgary Flames defenseman will be traded before the NHL trade deadline on  March 8.

Some Canadian teams are interested but Friedman says it will likely be a deal with one of the American-based suitors because they have a better chance of signing Hanifin. He will be an unrestricted free agent this summer.

Because Hanifin is a Boston native and a former Boston College player, it is believed he is interested in signing with Boston. Flames executive Dave Nonis has been scouting the Bruins.
