In reply to Tom Rady. Tom, I meant he needs to get more survival-strong, not Shaq strong. Add all around maturity and part of a GR season and he may have a seat in Detroit. If you try to think of non core Wings players with the most upside to attract value in return Soderblom may fit along with Mazur and their early 1st round choice to move up to get a 2nd or 3rd draft pick which the Wings supposedly want. Very tempting.

In reply to Mark W. Mark I dont think you can make a guy a bruiser if he is not so inclined. He is a bigger kid who is a skilled player. I dont think he will ever be a basher, its not his nature. You cannot make him be that if does not want to do it.

If he makes it through this off-season without becoming part of a trade package then GR is his spot until he grows more muscle. Two IR stints already may reflect a need for added strength or ? He has plenty of talent now and exceptional potential if all goes well. Which makes him interesting to other teams too. Wings will not be able to keep everyone with so many prospects yet to be seen.

He could become like Anthony Mantha, or He could push himself to another level and become a real force. I hope he won’t be satisfied with just making the NHL and wants to be great.
