Injuries will happen. Replacements with less experience come up usually as a downgrade, unless further down the schedule some of the GR players are playing great. That remains to be seen. Meanwhile the starting team needs to remain healthy.

But, the competition have the same issues. So keeping the streak going depends on health and experienced replacements who can step up and fit in at least temporarily.

That is why some were surprised when the Wings took up Czarnik over perhaps Soderblom or Berggren who since is up with the Wings. I would guess that Matt Luff would have been called next if he was recovered from injury.

When thinking of teams winning consistently in the NHL Boston comes to mind. They’ve managed to replace their depth guys lost to free agency so they’ve been able to maintain a spot on top. It appears that the Wings have a similar approach. Always looking to improve.

So while they may lose a few games here and there they’re probably not going to slip into a slump. Meanwhile GRs players get more experience together playing the same way Lalonde plays.

Month by month they become better more reliable call ups. Ideally by mid season they’ll be stepping in without a downgrade. So yea the Wings are for real and built to stay that way.

I don’t think they have a great line yet, but they can roll out 4 awfully good lines that can keep coming at you. The 20 game mark should be interesting.
