The Daily: Ex-Red Wings Star Fedorov Leads CSKA to Back-to-Back Titles; Bruins Making Goalie Switch for Game 7?
2022-23 was Horcoff’s first full season as GM of the AHL Griffins
Former Detroit Red Wings star Sergei Fedorov can add another unique first to his Hall of Fame resume. With a 3-2 victory over Ak Bars Kazan on Saturday in Game 7 of the KHL final series, Fedorov coached CSKA Moscow to a second consecutive Gagarin Cup title.
The victory makes Fedorov, who won back-to-back Stanley Cups with the Red Wings in 1996-97 and 1997-98, the only person to win consecutive Stanley Cups as a player and win consecutive Gagarin Cups as a coach.

The 1993-94 Hart Trophy winner as NHL MVP, Fedorov is a three-time Stanley Cup champion. He also won with the 2001-02 Red Wings. As well, he’s been part of three Gagarin Cup wins. Fedorov was GM of CSKA Moscow when the club won the 2018-19 Gagarin Cup.
