The shoulder is the most complicated moving joint. Shoulders tend to reinjure more easily after surgery. If the injury isn’t too awful rehab is said to be the usual way to go.

According to info found on-line shoulder surgery minimal downtime is said to be a few months. If there is good news, the prediction of 4 months is not as long it could be for some more severe injuries (insert “not a Doc” disclaimer).

Considering there remains 1 mo. before the season starts, missing 3 months of the regular season is the best case and not as bad as it might have been.

That sort of timing might work out well if the Wings can hang tough in the meantime. They’ll get a good look at their abundant young talent in the meantime.
