The Pens future is bleak. Too many over 30. Not really much in the system either. In the near future they need everything. They should sell any asset including Sid and three or four with some return value. Even then, whatever they bring in return won’t add enough to be a contender. Pens players who might add play-off punch to the Wings ? Crosby or Karlsson. Even Crosby might be too slow these days.

Pens D-man Erik Karlsson (33yrs) might be a really good fit. Karlsson’s a plus 8 this year too proving he can do it. 101 big offense points two years ago for San Jose. Smart, and 3 time Norris Trophy winner who Ottawa traded away. (interesting theme developing)

AND Another great Defenseman Chychrun too if available would be a really nice add but harder to pry away from….YES…. Ottawa.
