Are you aware of any good Adams biography? I know you have written a lot about the players of that era that provide insights into what it was like to play under Trader Jack. Would love to know more about Adams and what made him tick.

Yes, several of the Wings I’ve talked to from that era felt Adams tinkered far too much with the roster. He would always call up players from the minors and insert them during the playoffs. Compare the changes he made to the Wings from 1950-55, to the stability that was evident in Montreal’s teams when the Habs ruled the second half of the decade.

Between trading Lindsay and Kelly out of spite and the mis guided trades outlined in this article, he definitely did some damage to the franchise.
