I don’t agree and I don’t think it is petty….Player’s numbers are retired for the greatest Red Wings, not the greatest players that played for the Red Wings….

Please do not give Sergei Fedorov another penny of Red Wings’ money. His rejection of the original offer from the Wings in 1997 began the absolutely insane salary structure in the NHL today. I have been a loyal Red Wings fan since Terry Sawchuck was in goal. We reveled in the exploits of the Russian Five. Do you think for a minute that Terry Sawchuck, his contemporaries and immediate successors, would have been better hockey players with those exorbitant salaries? Sure, there is bad blood between the Wings and Sergei Federov – deservedly so. There is bad blood between Sergei Federov and me, too. I can no longer afford a ticket to see my Red Wings play.
