Wow, great memory there MB ! Rebuilds starting from completely empty cupboards do take a long time. And the Wing’s got no generational talent with their lottery picks i.e. lousy luck. So it takes even longer.

Once GR and Toledo were restocked with Yzerman’s picks they’ve begun just now to win. His theory is winners there will become winners for Detroit. And so far the Yzerman choices that have found their way to Detroit are in fact winners.

At the same time all THAT is going on, S.Y. has acquired enough non-Yzerman-picked NHL talent to make the Wings competitive and he’s on the verge of success there too.

Not too shabby for 6 years and no top draft picks. And now the farms are producing finished product. No better GM in the NHL.

I hope you’re right.

But I expect to hear more of the same thing from Yzerman.

Lucky you MB. Next season nearly everyone in GR will likely have a shot at the Wing’s roster. Foremost the Wing’s D needs refreshing. Yzerman has prospects READY and most under age 25, to fill any vacancies. The non-core Wings may be gone soon for draft choices. Unless of course they make the playoffs this season.
