This was hard to read.. but I think I get what you’re saying.. and I disagree. You can fire the players! Look what happened last year! Lalonde is Steve’s guy..he’s not going anywhere. The players have been playing longer than he’s been coaching, this is on them, and them only

I completely agree that the players should be able to motivate themselves and stay mentally engaged but that’s been missing too often and the coaches have to find an answer. That’s their job. All I know is this crap wouldn’t be happening with coaches like Tortorella, Tochket, BrindaAmour, and the like.

Excuses like we’re “learning to play with a lead”, or “on the road” or recently, “with the pressure of a playoff race” only create a soft landing instead of accountability. What we’re starting to see now should of be happening from day one.

Chiarot brings some fight and energy to a practice, Kane calls out his teammates, and Lolande sends a message with a scratch and a new lineup. Instead of another excuse they took action. Let:s hope it works.

It’s always the same excuse. Blame the coach. He’s the same guy that was there when they were doing well, now all of a sudden he can’t coach? Blame lack of leadership. If they were loaded with young guys then maybe but there are lots of vets on the team. This one falls completely on the effort of the players themselves. Zero effort to retrieve pucks, zero puck support. zero personal game preparation. If you don’t go out and execute the gameplan you don’t win. I doubt the coach has drawn up a plan to sleep through the first 10 minutes. These guys need someone to hand them mirrors so they can see who is responsible for their struggles.

Agree John he is just telling the truth. It seems apparent that if no playoffs he will want to be moved in the off season. Dont blame him.

It comes down to leadership and the coaching. Just look at the teams that don’t have these issues and you will see a leader setting and maintaining a standard. Hopefully Kane’s comments will move things in the right direction.
