Alex Lyon, Red Wings

Detroit Red Wings goalie Alex Lyon was injured in their 1-0 road loss to the Philadelphia Flyers. Bob Duff’s story quotes coach Derek Lalonde saying that the Red Wings will know about his injury today.

Ville Husso relieved Lyon and played one of his better games of the season, stopping all 18 shots he faced against an improved Flyers team.

“Again there’s a little injury,” Husso said. “Happened there in the second period. Those are part of hockey I guess. You never want to see that, especially when you’re sitting on the bench. But hopefully he’s okay and will be back soon. For my part, even when you don’t play you still get ready for the game as usual and just try to prepare like it’s your own game. I feel like it wasn’t like anything bad that I jump in like in the middle of the game. I was ready to go.”

Duff wrote  that the team is having some difficulty without injured Dylan Larkin and suspended David Perron. Injured J.T. Compher came back into the lineup Saturday. The Red Wings have lost three of the four games without Larkin and Perron.
