Larkin is a middle to lower end first line center. That’s probably not good enough for a team to be serious Stanley Cup contenders. There were several centers rated above Larkin that were taken after the first round. The Red Wings’ scouts need to make it happen.

Maybe BOS should take a shot on Veleno to try to get going and work his way to 2C? Seems like he is not going to be the 2C he wants on Wings so likely unhappy. Still has value so Wings could get a good prospect or picks. He might be like Zadina and need a change of scenery. Maybe he finally hits a groove in BOS. He still has the potential to be a solid 2C and if not then 3C. Just a thought.
