The Daily: Avs Trade Tatar to Seattle; Rakell in ‘dark place’

The Colorado Avalanche traded former Red Wings player Tomas Tatar to the Seattle Kraken for a fifth round pick. Tatar’s tenure with Colorado lasted 94 days.

Tatar, 33, has been a consistent scorer throughout his career, but he never was put in the position to be a scorer in Colorado. After scoring 20 goals last season for New Jersey, he had one goal this season for Colorado.

CHN’s Evan Rawal sensed that Tatar wasn’t thrilled with his situation in Colorado. In fairness to the Avalanche, Rawal said Tatar didn’t seem to mesh well with the Colorado system.

Tatar is making $1.5 million. He could be a good fit for the Kraken who need another goal scorer.
