Where Does Detroit Red Wings’ Goaltending Rank in Atlantic? | DHN+
The Detroit Red Wings’ defensive effort last season was poor to the point that it is challenging, maybe even unfair, to judge how the team’s goaltenders performed.
The Red Wings ranked 28th in save percentage (.897) and 31st in goals-against average (3.78) .
But general manager Steve Yzerman believes he upgraded his goaltending after trading for Ville Husso and signing him for a three-year deal averaging $4.75 million per season. Husso, 27, was 25-7-6 with a .919 save percentage for the St. Louis. Icydata.com says Husso ranked 12th in the NHL with 35.96 goals prevented above the average.
