Philadelphia Flyers GM Chuck Fletcher tells Philadelphia Hockey Now that he expects a flurry of trades around the NHL expansion draft and that he hopes to add “some exciting additions” to their club.
Philly is in the market for an impact defenseman. Already, rumors are linking the Flyers to Seth Jones of the Columbus Blue Jackets. Connecateions are also linking them to impending UFA Dougie Hamilton of the Carolina Hurricanes.
Now you can add Ryan Suter to the list. Bought out by the Minnesota Wild, Suter played for Fletcher when the latter was GM of the Wild.

Detroit: Spending some of club’s $27 million cap space, Detroit Red Wings GM Steve Yzerman acquired defenseman Nick Leddy. That’s a good get for the Red Wings.
NYI: The Islanders didn’t want to lose Leddy, but he would have been unprotected, and they recouped a solid asset. They also opened up some salary cap space.
