Cole Knuble, the son of former Red Wings forward Mike Knuble, is impressing his new NHL club the Philadelphia Flyers.

The World Junior Summer Showcase recently was wrapping up in Plymouth, Michigan and one of the stars of the show was the son of a former Detroit Red Wings player. Forward Cole Knuble, a Philadelphia Flyers prospect, was among those who were turning heads at the international tournament.

Playing for USA Hockey, Knuble is the son of longtime NHL forward Mike Knuble. From Grand Rapids, Michigan, the elder Knuble was an NHL star with the Flyers but he got his NHL start with the Red Wings in 1996-97. In fact, his NHL debut came in the infamous March 26, 1997 game between Detroit and the Colorado Avalanche.

Red Wings fans will also recall that Cole Knuble was an attendee last summer at the club’s development camp. He was chosen 103rd overall by Philadelphia in the 2023 NHL entry draft. Cole Knuble will be playing college hockey this season at Notre Dame.
