NHL training camps are right around the corner and NHL general managers are busy plugging holes and trying to improve their roster. With the New York Islanders expected to sign Nazem Kadri, the Islanders need to clear up space.

One report has the Montreal Canadiens interested in acquiring Anthony Beauvillier from the Islanders.

No one seems to know what the Kadri contract will look like. But the Islanders will have to move someone.

Meanwhile, Vegas Hockey Now writer Owen Krepps is urging the Vegas Golden Knights to make another run at acquiring goalie Semyon Varlamov. The Golden Knights need a goalie to replace Robin Lehner who is out for the season because of hip surgery.

The problem with that scenario is that Islanders general manager Lou Lamoriello doesn’t have a desire to move Varlamov.

Finally, Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now weighs on whether the San Jose Sharks should try to sign PK Subban. The Sharks traded away Brent Burns and lost Nikolai Knyzhov to injury.
