The Daily: Should B’s Fret Over Pens?; Waiting for Marco Kasper
Anyone who tuned into the Bally Sports Detroit Red Wings’ broadcast Friday hoping to see the Marco Kasper NHL debut came away disappointed. He took the warmup but didn’t play.
Kasper is expected to play on this road trip, which continues Sunday in Toronto. Defenseman Simon Edvinsson will also likely play in that game.
Sunday could be a great day for Red Wings’ prospect watching. Defenseman William Wallinder did not make his North American pro debut on Friday with the Grand Rapids Griffins. It’s possible he could join Carter Mazur in the Griffins lineup for a Sunday’s game at Rockford.
Kasper, Edvinsson, Wallinder and Mazur are at the top of the food chain when it comes to Red Wings’ prospects.
By way, Mazur picked up his first professional point Friday with an assist on a Danny O’Regan goal in the Griffins’ loss to the Milwaukee Admirals. An NHL pro scout told Detroit Hockey Now that Mazur does not look out of place in the pro game.
The Griffins were on the receiving end of Milwaukee's sixth-consecutive win despite Danny O'Regan, Carter Mazur and Dylan St. Cyr each achieving significant milestones.

Manon Rheaume’s Son Makes Pro Debut
Goalie Dylan St. Cyr, son of Manon Rheaume, received a second tryout offer from the Grand Rapids and he stopped all seven shots he faced in a relief appearance Friday against Milwaukee. St. Cyr played this season at Michigan State.
St. Cyr was the seventh different goalie the Griffins used this season. That’s a new franchise record.
Red Wings In Case You Missed It
Detroit prospect Carter Mazur likes to play in the “gritty areas.”
When veteran Detroit forward David Perron scored a hat trick he had a puck for each of his three children.
General manager Steve Yzerman‘s offseason acquisition are still producing in the final games of this season.
Red Wings’ Next Game
The Red Wings (33-33-9) play the Toronto Maple Leafs Sunday in Toronto . Alex Nedeljkovic will be back in the net. The Maple Leafs (44-20-10) have the NHL’s sixth-best record. The Red Wings are sitting in the No. 9 draft position with eight games to go.
