Kilpinen moving from Orebo to MoDo
Besides being the owner of a spectacular name, Detroit Red Wings prospect Maximilian Kilpinen also has himself a new place to call home.
Selected 129th overall by the Red Wings in the 2022 NHL entry draft, Kilpinen is switching Swedish teams. He is transferring from Orebo HK U20 to MoDo Hockey U20. A 6-foot-1, 179-pound center/left-winger Kilpinen, 19, finished seventh on the Orebo junior squad in scoring last season. He would collect 13-16-29 totals through 48 games.

Kilpinen also suited up for one game with Orebo’s SHL squad. Should be earn a call up to the big club with MoDo in 2023-24, he’ll find himself skating alongside another Detroit draftee. Center/right-winger Theodor Niederbach, selected 51st overall by the Wings in 2020, plays for MoDo.
