The Daily: Sharks Want Too Much; Will Bruins Bid For Lindholm?

Patrice Bergeron’s retirement has left a large hole in the Boston Bruins’ lineup and they may try to fill it with the acquisition of Elias Lindholm from the Calgary Flames.

Jimmy Murphy of Boston Hockey Now said he has not been able to confirm that the Bruins have talked to the Flames. But a source told him if the Bruins go that route the cost would be significant.

“If the Bruins want Lindholm, likely [Jake] DeBrusk,” a source told Murphy. “They don’t want any picks, and the Bruins have none. They want a scoring winger that can make up for [Tyler] Toffoli being traded. There’s probably more that would be in that trade, but DeBrusk would be the target, I think.”

If the Bruins don’t acquire a new No. 1 center, Pavel Zacha or Charlie Coyle will center the top line.

Red Wings’ Offseason

Former Detroit Red Wings/Grand Rapids goalie Jusse Olkinuora signed with the Pelicans in Finland’s top league. The Red Wings signed Olkinuora before last season and he played for the Griffins (3.75 GAA, .868 save percentage). By mutual agreement, he left the Griffins and signed with a Swedish team in February.
