Red WIngs vs Penguins

Can the Detroit Red Wings continue their hot streak against the Pittsburgh Penguins?

They are riding high going into their nationally televised clash with the Penguins, winning each of their last two games and scoring three goals in their first three.

And they have done so with a balanced attack that stretches up and down the lineup.

After struggling to find scoring from their bottom six last season, the Red Wings have 1o players with at least one goal through three games.

Detroit also has 13 players with at least one point.

The Red Wings are seeing a lot of production from their offseason acquisitions.

Alex DeBrincat has been as advertised after joining the Red Wings via a blockbuster trade, leading the team in goals (three) and points (five).

Free-agent signing J.T. Compher has fit right in on the second line, leading the team in assists (three) and slotting in at second in points (four).

Fellow free-agent singings Daniel Sprong (two goals) and Shayne Gostisbehere (three points) have also slotted in quite nicely.

All of the moves Steve Yzerman made this summer are looking like they are paying off — and it is helping the Red Wings compete with some of the NHL’s best.

And they will have a big test on Wednesday night against the star-studded Penguins.

Pittsburgh made it a point to bolster its already top-loaded roster after missing the playoffs for the first time since 2006 last season.

To add to their long-standing star trio of Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang, the Penguins traded for 2022-23 Norris Trophy winner Erik Karlsson from the San Jose Sharks.

Karlsson is coming off of a 25-goal, 101-point season in San Jose.

Pittsburgh also added 2023 Stanley Cup Champion Reilly Smith via a trade with the Vegas Golden Knights this offseason.

The right winger had 26 goals and 56 points in 78 regular season games and four goals and 14 points in 22 playoff games last year.

How are the odds looking for the Red Wings on Wednesday night? Just as good as these deals from www.slotozilla.com.

Detroit is a slight underdog against Pittsburgh, slotted at +105 to win straight out.

The puckline is 1.5, which the Red Wings have -220 odds to cover.

DeBrincat and captain Dylan Larkin have the best odds to score for the Red Wings on Wednesday night, each holding +165 odds to score at any time against the Penguins.

Lucas Raymond, who delivered a viral hit and scored in Saturday night’s 6-4 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning, has +290 odds to score at any time and +1900 odds to be the game’s first goal-scorer.

Crosby, who enters the game with three goals in three games, is a good bet to score from Pittsburgh.

He has +150 odds to score at any time and +1100 odds to score first, which are tied with teammate Jake Guentzel for the best odds in both categories.

Karlsson has +490 odds to score his first goal of the season against the Red Wings on Wednesday night.

The Red Wings will get one of their biggest tests of the season to this point in the TNT spotlight.

And with the way they are playing now, the odds that they rise to the occasion are pretty good.
