What to Know

After berating Boston on Friday, it’s a confident group of Red Wings who are looking to extend their winning streak against the Wild. “We know we are a good team,’ said goalie Ville Husso, who got the win against Boston Friday… It’s just if we can bring it every night, every day our best game we can beat any team in this league. We’ve done a good job the last two games. Just gotta keep building, take the win today and move on.”  ….

Alex Lyon will be back in net for the Red Wings. After sitting out the first 16 games of the season, today’s start will be his third in the last four games. Meanwhile, the Bruins, whose previous two losses in regulation were to the Red Wings, suffered a regulation loss for the second day in a row Saturday. Boston lost to the Rangers in New York 7-4…

The Wild, who were in Sweden with the Red Wings last week, have been struggling. They’ve l0st 10 of their last 12 and the last six in a row. ….

Meanwhile, the Wild may soon have to deal with a controversy involving goalie Marc-Andre Fleury’s mask, which has run afoul of NHL rules. It’s the least of the Wild’s problems. They’re scored three goals or less in eight of their last 10 games and are 31st in the league in goals allowed. …

The Red Wings, on the other hand, have played well since returning from Sweden last week. “I think as a team we’re finding something,” J.T. Compher said Friday. “It hasn’t been consistent the whole time, a few growing pains but that’s pretty normal for early in the year. These last two games kind of show what we’re capable of, but it’s gotta be consistent every night. That’s what we’ve been talking about going into (today’s game) against Minnesota.
