The Detroit Red Wings have re-signed forward Michael Rasmussen to a three-year deal worth $1.46 million per season

The Detroit Red Wings have re-signed center Michael Rasmussen to a three-year bridge contract for an average of $1.46 million per season. GM Steve Yzerman still has restricted free agents Jakub Vrana, Filip Vrana, Adam Erne, Gustav Lindstrom, Tyler Bertuzzi, Givani Smith and Evgeny Svechnikov still to sign.

Svechnikov’s status is more of an unknown because the Red Wings haven’t shown any indication that he is part of the future plans.

As of today, the Red Wings have 12 players under contract for next season and $39.5 million in cap space remaining. That’s according to CapFriendly.com.

Rasmussen, 22, projects to be Detroit’s No. 3 center next season.  The Red Wings appreciate how hard Rasmussen works at his game. The No. 9 pick in the 2017 draft, Rasmussen had three goals and 12 points last season.
