Unfair to compare any coach to the great Scotty Bowman. But Newsy strikes me as more of a Dave Lewis type. A players coach. The worst thing a team can be is complacent. I don’t see the in game adjustments needed with this team. It’s almost like to they have their system and they’re going to beat their heads against the wall no matter what.

Mike not sure abour beingva screamer. Its a diff time. But an experienced winning head?coach who has the authority to make it clear that effort and playing team defense is mandatory or u will be playing elswhere. Scotty made that clear to every player and it did not matter how much money u make.

Newsy is too nice of a guy. Need to get in there and chew some paint off the walls.

I would argue that their Head Coach may also lack the requisite talents necessary to bring out the best in his players on a nightly basis. The next time that Lalonde jumps down the throat of a referee for a call on the ice, will be the FIRST TIME !!

If they miss the playoffs (which looks very likely…), Yzerman must FIRE Lalonde !
