The Daily: Calgary Center of NHL Trade Rumors; Prospect Updates
Calgary Hockey Now writer Trevor Neufeld reports that the buzzards are circling the Calgary Flames these days in anticipation of the March 8 deadline. NHL trade rumors abound in Calgary
“With the breaking of the Elias Lindholm deal on Jan. 31,” Neufeld wrote, “It’s fair to assume that Craig Conroy’s work life is intensifying leading up to the NHL trade deadline.”
Neuberg’s breaks down the latest NHL trade rumors and expectations for the possibility of trading Noah Hanifin, Chris Tanev and Jacob Markstrom.
The Boston Bruins reportedly have interest in Hanifin, and he has also been connected to the Arizona Coyotes. On Jan. 29, Frank Seravalli listed the Dallas Stars, Florida Panthers, New York Islanders, Pittsburgh Penguins, Tampa Bay Lightning and Vancouver Canucks as teams interested in the fearless defenseman Tanev.
“Despite the roadblock of a no movement clause forbidding Markstrom to be traded, ” Neufeld wrote, “Markstrom can be traded, but only if the team asks nicely.”
There are plenty of teams looking for a goalie.
